Class Masters

Class masters is an opportunity for students to work on public speaking skills. We will be using our Science Topics of Chemistry & Natural Disasters as the context for our speeches.

There are 3 styles of public speaking that students will all participate in:

  • Debating (persuasive)
  • Prepared informative speeches
  • Impromptu speaking (made up on the spot)

This timetable shows what speeches you will be giving and when- please check carefully as you will need to prepare your speeches in your own time- debating teams will need to use lunch/recess & before & after school to make sure your team covers everything you are expected to.

Show mum and dad, sisters, cousins, uncles…in front of the mirror in your room- the more you practise the better you will be!

Remember debates are a team challenge. You should meet with your team at least 5 times to share your ideas, help each other out and read out your speeches in whatever form they are at.
